Leading immersive attractions specialist Simworx has announced an exciting new chapter as it comes under common ownership with Intamin, one of the world’s most respected names in the attractions industry. Established in 2005, the multi-award-winning company has delivered more than 130 installations worldwide and has developed a range of media-based attractions and patented technologies, including AGV Dark Rides, Immersive Tunnels, Pegasus Flying Theatres and dynamic motion simulation rides.

With a significant order book and sales pipeline, Simworx sought a partnership with a strong, industry-renowned organisation. The acquisition represents a major opportunity for growth and enhanced capability, combining Simworx’s expertise in media-based attractions with the strength, resources and global reach associated with Intamin. Working closely with ETF Ride Systems, also under common ownership with Intamin, the business will be well positioned to accelerate innovation, strengthen project delivery and expand the support it provides to customers worldwide.
Under the new ownership structure, Simworx Attractions Limited has acquired the assets, product range, intellectual property, trademarks, patents and engineering, sales and support team of UK-based Simworx Limited. Terry Monkton will continue as Chief Executive Officer, and the company and its staff will continue to operate from the established headquarters in the West Midlands, retaining the expertise, creativity and customer relationships that have defined Simworx for more than 20 years.
Terry Monkton, Chief Executive Officer of Simworx Attractions Limited, said: “I have long admired Intamin and have had the pleasure of collaborating with the team on a number of projects in the past. Their commitment to delivering outstanding ride systems, continuous product innovation and their extensive experience is very well known within the industry. They have been responsible for some of the world’s most iconic attractions, enjoyed by millions of people each year. The infrastructure and support available through Intamin and ETF Ride Systems were key drivers behind my decision to seek this partnership, which is ideal for Simworx as we enter our next stage of growth and continue delivering the next generation of immersive media attractions to clients across the globalleisure and entertainment sectors.”
Peter Kerstjens, Chief Executive Officer of ETF Ride Systems, said: “We welcome the opportunity to work alongside Simworx. They bring a strong reputation, proven products and deep experience in immersive media-based attractions. Whilst Simworx will continue to design and manufacture its product range, given ETF’s long established experience of Dark Rides – we are looking forward to collaborating on our mutual product lines of trackbound as well as trackless Dark Rides while sharing technical expertise, and jointly creating new innovative dark ride technologies and concepts for customers around the world.”
