Simworx completes 4D effects theatre and custom 3D film for The Beatles Story, Liverpool
UK venue adds exciting new indoor attraction for 2009 season
UK based 4D effects theatre and simulation attraction specialist Simworx has completed the sale and installation of a 4D effects theatre to The Beatles Story Museum, based in Liverpool, UK.
Due to open in July, the new 40-seat theatre is housed in a brand new building in an extension to the existing Beatles Story attraction based at the Albert Dock. The new venue is the Pier Head Mersey Ferries terminal building and visitor attraction and the extension to the Beatles Story takes up the entire second floor of the Pier Head attraction. Simworx has provided a full turnkey project, including a Christie high definition projection system, to present the 3D imagery, along with special effects lighting and the company’s Dimensions 4D effects seats.
As well as the familiar seat movements, numerous special effects have been incorporated into the attraction to help create an unforgettable experience, these including water spray, air blast, leg ticklers, aroma, low smoke and bubbles. Additionally, Simworx has supplied a custom film for The Beatles Story. Entitled FAB 4D and produced for Simworx by leading 3D/4D film specialists Red Star Studio, it tells the story of a young roadie called Mike and the magical mystery tour that he takes in order to win the heart of the girl of his dreams. Created in high definition 3D, the film takes full advantage of the various 4D effects supplied with the theatre.
“I’m very proud that Simworx is involved in such a prestigious project involving what must be the most iconic band in pop music,” said Simworx Managing Director Terry Monkton. “We’ve installed 4D effects theatres for a wide range of customers who have had varying requirements and this latest installation is a great example of how we are able to work with all types of visitor attraction to provide a fun, entertaining and very relevant addition to any venue. It brings another aspect to The Beatles Story Museum and I know it will be well received by visitors.”
