Simworx and Metropolis team up in new marketing alliance

Metropolis Entertainment and Simworx announce today that they’ve created a new marketing alliance targeted at the museums and visitor centre segment.
East Sussex, England based Metropolis is an established provider of fully packaged simulation-based attractions to museums and visitor centres internationally. Currently the company is operating joint ventures with museums throughout the UK and Europe including the London Science Museum, National Railway Museum and Holmenkollen Ski Museum, Norway’s number one tourist attraction. Metropolis is in many ways unique in that it provides fully integrated systems, in both hardware and software as well as engineering design, installation and long-term service and support. It also brings a funding source to the table which has lead to a number of highly successful revenue share operations being established in recent years.
Metropolis in addition hosts a specialised film production unit which has created award winning experiential content, in both live action and computer animation, to support its installations. Typically, it created the world’s first 3D fast jet aerobatic experience with the world-famous RAF Red Arrows, which is currently on display in Fly Zone at the London Science Museum.
Simworx has emerged over the past decade or so as the UK’s leading innovator in the production and supply of turnkey 4D effects cinemas and both motion simulation and virtual reality-based attractions. Simworx systems are installed at theme parks and visitor attractions literally around the world and its products and services extend from custom designed attractions, to a range of highly original stand-alone products which include 4D Cinema’s,
dynamic simulation platforms, Immersive Tunnels, Flying Theatres and Dark Rides…all supported by a massive library of content.
Recent projects include…Derren Brown’s Ghost Train at Thorpe Park; Racing Legends at Ferrari Land, Portaventura Spain; Marvel Avengers at Transtudios, Indonesia; Dragon Age/Final Fantasy & Asura’s Wrath rides all at Hub Zero, Dubai, Shrek’s Adventure, London; Kung Fu Panda & Underworld both at Motiongate Dubai and The Lost Temple at Movie Park, Germany.
Under the new alliance, Simworx will become the supplier of choice for Metropolis specified projects and Metropolis will actively market Simworx products into the museums sector. Commenting Paul Spence, Metropolis marketing director, said this was a win win for both organisations. “Metropolis is a powerful brand in its relevant market segment and is particularly experienced in setting up and operating revenue share joint ventures” he said.
This creates a significant opportunity to extend the penetration of Simworx highly innovative product range into what is potentially a growth market.
Simworx Managing Director, Terry Monkton, said “I’ve known and worked with the guys at Metropolis over many years and I’m delighted that we’ve teamed up with such a professional organisation.” In particular it gives Simworx access to Metropolis live action film production capabilities which will be a major benefit to both companies going forward. Simworx has been extremely prominent in the Theme Park industry for many years, and we are excited by the potential expansion of our product reach into the Museums sector with Metropolis.
