Simworx will once again be participating in the Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) which this year takes place in Singapore from June 14 to 16. Visit us on booth #B1030 to get up to date with our latest product developments and projects and to discuss how we can help provide attraction solutions that will thrill, excite and entertain your guests.
In the meantime, we are pleased to send you our latest newsletter with details of just some of the developments and projects Simworx is currently involved in, as well as news of some of the installations we have completed in recent months.
Simworx to install numerous projects in Asia
Simworx has designed, built and installed its products throughout the world, including in Europe, North America, South America, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East.
Examples of recently completed projects include those at Ferrari Land in Spain, several venues in Dubai, including parks within the prestigious Dubai Parks & Resorts (DPR) project and at Hub Zero in downtown Dubai’s City Walk area, at the Oceanogràfic Aquarium in Valencia, Spain, and at Conkers in the UK, while Asia is also proving to be a strong region for the company.
Simworx is currently working on a number of projects in Asia and recently revealed that it has secured a major contract for the supply of three attractions to each of 10 individual venues in China over the next two years. The three attractions to be provided to each location will all incorporate Simworx products launched specifically for the FEC market and will include a 360°, 4D cinema featuring seats in a circular configuration and a 360° screen, along with an array of 4D effects.
Additionally, a new generation of simulator themed as an explorer’s vehicle will be another of the attractions, while each venue will also take delivery of a 12-seat Virtual Reality (VR) motion simulator experience with each rider seated on a 3DOF motion simulator seat with individual VR headsets.
The company’s future projects also include a package of six rides for locations in China linked to an intellectual property.
Motion theatre gives Ferrari Land visitors a spectacular F1 racing experience
We recently announced the opening of a thrilling new family attraction at the brand new Ferrari Land theme park at PortAventura World in Spain in the form of the Racing Legends motion theatre.
Based on the company’s popular Stargazer motion theatre solution, Racing Legends is housed within the Ferrari Experience building, the central feature of the new park and home to a variety of Ferrari-themed attractions, exhibits and facilities. The ride utilises 10, eight-seat Stargazer motion bases accommodated on three different levels, each themed as a Ferrari Formula 1 car and providing riders with a 6DOF motion experience along with various special effects on the vehicles – water spray, wind, aroma and sound.
With a spectacular 23m diameter dome screen and projection system also supplied by Simworx, guests are fully immersed into the experience of a journey through time with Scuderia Ferrari and the F1 experience on a ride around some of the most well-known racing circuits in the world. The media content was supplied by US company Mousetrappe.
AGV dark rides for Europe and Middle East
Following the successful completion of Simworx’s AGV (Advanced Guidance Vehicle) dark ride vehicle the company has secured agreements to supply three attractions which will utilise this latest new product development.
The contract is already in place for the supply of the first AGV based attraction in Europe and agreement has also been reached for two further attractions in the Far East, for supply in December 2018 and June 2019.
The Advanced Guidance Vehicle takes dark ride vehicles to a whole new level of technical advancement. With no track or cabling required and unrivaled acceleration for such a system, it provides a dynamic experience akin to that provided by the world renowned Spiderman and Transformers dark ride attractions.
Available with a variety of different motion systems, seating capacities and on-board 4D effects, AGV riders can experience 3DOF along with forward and sideways movement and 360° rotation.
Flying Theatre set to land in Latin America
Following the launch of Simworx’s Flying Theatre at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando last November, we are delighted to announce that the first example of this exciting new attraction will open in Latin America in 2018. Much interest has been show in the Flying Theatre since its launch and other high level prospects for further sales are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
4D cinema for Conkers
Conkers, a family adventure park in Derbyshire, UK, opened a new 80-seat 4D cinema from Simworx for the 2017 season. The attraction is the perfect addition for the venue’s family audience and features the familiar array of 4D effects, such as leg ticklers, seat vibration, water spray and air blast.
Martin Booth appointed to new position of head of projects
A new role created at Simworx has seen the appointment of Martin Booth to the position of head of projects.
Martin comes to Simworx after 24 years with Merlin Entertainments during which time he held a number of different positions before most latterly being in the role of ride projects technical director within the Merlin Magic Making department.
In his new role at Simworx, Martin will head up a senior management team consisting of design engineering, project management, technical services and after sales support and will work closely with chief technical officer Andy Roberts and other members of the projects team.
New 4D VR seat proves a winner
Following the creation of the award-winning Derren Brown’s Ghost Train at the UK’s Thorpe Park last year, which incorporates a ‘mind bending’ Virtual Reality (VR) element, Simworx has now developed its own specialist 4D VR seat which we are pleased to report is creating much interest and for which we have already confirmed a number of sales.
The first two venues to take the 4D VR seats will see installation later this year, with eight more sites confirmed over the next 18 months. The product is now readily available from Simworx and provides operators with yet another exciting and entertaining option when looking for this type of product.
And following on from this, Simworx has also reached agreement to develop a brand new Paradrop VR attraction with a new design partner. Watch this space for more details which will be revealed soon!
Simworx enhances Oceanogràfic Aquarium theatre
Simworx has completed the installation of over 200 new 4D seats in the Mar Rojo Theatre at the Oceanogràfic Aquarium in Valencia, Spain, to provide a new experience opportunity for guests to Europe’s largest aquarium.
A total of 202 seats have been installed in the 500-seat amphitheatre as replacements for some of the existing seats, creating a new, multi-purpose attraction which combines a 4D theatre and a main stage show.
The new seats incorporate a variety of in-built effects such as seat vibration, leg ticklers, back prods, water blast and air blast. A range of in-theatre effects have also been provided by Simworx, these including wind, smoke, bubbles, aroma, snow and special effects lighting.
