Jurassic Pier
Effects: Seat Movements, Leg Ticklers, Wind Effects, Smoke & Water Spray
As part of Clacton Pier’s revamp, Simworx worked with Clacton to replace its 40-year-old seaquarium with a brand-new 4D Cinema and Walk-through experience. Named Jurassic Pier the experience takes guests through a dinosaur paddock past various dinosaur enclosures allowing them to get up close and personal with the animatronic giants in a themed environment, led through by the ‘Dinosaur wranglers. The experience concludes with an immersive 4D Cinema experience in a themed theatre space where guests take a wild jeep ride through dense tropical rainforest seeing fierce Raptors, flying Pterosaurs, giant Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and the mighty T-Rex.
Ben 10 : Runaway Rustbucket
Effects: Special Effect Lighting
Join Ben 10 on a wild and whacky adventure through various landscapes fighting off alien monsters alongside him as you go for a ride in the Rustbucket vehicle. Guests enjoy cabin movement synchronised with the on-screen media which surrounds them on multiple LED screen ‘windows’.
Tetrastar Spaceport

Prepared to go on a cosmic holiday into space, visitors accidentally find themselves on a rescue mission to Mars where they have to work together to retrieve important research, survive disaster and escape back to Earth.
Flying Eyes Theatre

Deep in Ba Na Hills’ Lunar Castle lies the Flying Eyes Theatre. The Erud Owl leads visitors with her wisdom and vast knowledge of the magic and modern world taking guests on an amazing journey through the Land of Giants through its Owl eyes. Utilising a multi-theatre layout, we installed two of our Cobra Dark Ride Attractions into the brand new expansion to the park.
Masameer Experience
Effects: Seat Movements, Wind, Water Spray, Special Effects Lighting
The first of it’s kind Masameer themed attraction was designed, delivered, and installed in record time for the opening of the Riyadh City Boulevard and features four of Simworx’s popular and dynamic 6DOF Stargazer ride vehicles. The experience is themed around the popular Saudi Arabian Cartoon IP – Masameer – developed by the studio Myrkott and produced for Netflix.
Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator
Effects: Water Spray, Wind and Leg Ticklers
This brand-new and intricately themed attraction is inspired and based around the characters from the famous Norwegian author and illustrator, Kjell Aukrust’s, Flåklypa Universe, Solan and Ludvig, as they test out Reodor, a crazy Norwegian inventor’s, solution to major climate challenges related to sustainability in the automotive and transportation industry.
Jurassic Island
Effects: Wind, Water Spritz, Rainforest and ‘Dino Breath’ Aroma
Nestled within the indoor theme park, Trans Studio Cibubur in Jakarta, Indonesia, the attraction branded as ‘Jurassic Island’ brings together the strengths of both Simworx and our partner in the project, Interlink. The Immersive Superflume puts a new spin on the traditional log flume ride by incorporating our Immersive Tunnel into a section of the ride as well as other exciting AV elements.
Fly Over Vietnam
Making its world debut in Vietnam, the Mini Flying Theatre brings this kind of attraction into the reach of smaller operators, offering a more accessible price and also a smaller overall footprint than a full sized Flying Theatre.
Installed at the beginning of 2020, this brand new cutting edge ride takes park guests on a breathtaking adventure over the stunning scenery of Vietnam.
Nickelodeon Adventure 4D Cinema

The Indoor Entertainment Centre ‘Nickelodeon Adventure’ is a Parque Reunidos development featuring some of Nick’s most popular characters. As partners on the project, Simworx has supplied 4D Effects Cinemas to the FEC’s in Murcia, Madrid and London.
Ultimate Expedition
Effects: Seat Movements, Vibration, Special Effects Lighting
Based on Simworx’s Immersive Adventurer, the Ultimate Expedition attraction is a captivating expedition experience for guests of all ages. The custom film shown on the windows, front screen and roof of the ‘vehicle’ styled capsule takes guests on a thrilling ride as they shrink to see the world from the perspective of an insect.
The Ultimate Expedition Attraction is located at the Nat Geo Ultimate Explorer FEC locations in both Shenyang and Hengquin, China.
Encounter 360

The National Geographic Ultimate Explorer attraction gives families the chance to interact with animals, travel to the farthest reaches of outer space, go to the bottom of the ocean and top of Everest without ever leaving the mall. Combining the best elements from theme parks, museums, gaming and role-playing into a truly innovative experience.
We created a custom 4D Effects Theatre for the Encounter 360 Attraction with a 360 degree projection screen that puts you right in the centre of the action. Joining the National Geographic explorers as they get up close and personal with animals in the wild, it’s a fully immersive experience.
Space Jump
The Space Jump Attraction is was the first example of Simworx’s 4DVR attraction. The experience gives guests a captivating and immersive space launch simulation suitable for all ages. Join our hero as you blast off to the edge of space and then free-fall back to Earth meeting alien creatures on the way.
The Space Jump Attraction is located at all the Nat Geo Ultimate Explorer Locations – Shenyang, Henguin, Metepec, Guadalajara and Abu Dhabi.
Marsu Adventures
Effects: Seat Movements, Aroma, Bubbles, Wind Blowers and Special Effects Lighting
Guests take their seats in one of Simworx’s popular, 60 seat, 4D Cinemas and are thrust into the world of Spirou as they set off, along with Marcia, Punch and Twist, in pursuit of a bouncy ball on a hectic journey. With 3DOF seat movements that give guests a taste of the intense on-screen action along with in-theatre effects, this attraction creates a totally immersive and fun-filled experience.
Gaffe à Gaston
Effects: Seat Movements, Vibration, Water Spray, Air Blast, Leg Ticklers, Bubbles, Low Smoke, Special Effects Lighting, Wind Blowers
Gaffe à Gaston is based on Simworx’s highly dynamic, 6DOF, eight-seater Stargazer Motion Theatre. Themed around Gaston Legaffe, a character from the Spirou universe, a total of four Stargazer units have been utilised within the attraction which sees visitors involved in a madcap adventure with Gaston, an enthusiastic inventor who often ends up in trouble!
Supergroom et les Dinozorgs
Effects: 360º Immersive Screen, 3DOF Motion Base, Low Smoke, Special Effects Lighting, Wind Blowers
Supergroom and the Dinozorgs features a 30-seat vehicle based on the custom produced film for the park. Accompanied by a pre-show staring Spirou himself, the Immersive Tunnel is a totally immersive experience for all ages. Once through the pre-show, Spirou joins visitors seated on a jeep styled simulator, which after a short journey along a track into the main show area takes them on a fun-filled dinosaur adventure.
Underworld 4D

Simworx provided the 100-seat 4D cinema based on the Movie franchise UNDERWORLD. The cinema incorporates 3DOF seats and a range of effects such as leg ticklers, air blasts, water sprays and wind, along with special effects lighting. A large screen and Christie projectors provide the visual elements.
Cine 4D – Oceanografic
Effects: Vibration, Water Spray, Air Blast, Leg Ticklers, Back Prods, Bubbles, Low Smoke, Special Effects Lighting, Aroma, Snow, Wind Blowers
Simworx completed the installation of over 200 new 4D seats in the Mar Rojo Theatre at the Oceanogràfic Aquarium in Valencia, Spain, to provide a new experience opportunity for guests to Europe’s largest aquarium.
Racing Legends

With a spectacular 23m diameter dome screen and projection system also supplied by Simworx, guests are fully immersed into the experience of a journey through time with Scuderia Ferrari and the F1 experience on a ride around some of the most well-known racing circuits in the world.
Kung Fu Panda: Unstoppable Awesomeness
Effects: 4 x 25 Seat “Boat’ themed dynamic 3DOF Motion Simulators, 4K 3D Projection System, Water Spray, Wind and Special Effects Lighting
Situated in Thea Awarded Dreamworks Animation Zone of Motiongate, the Cobra theatre experience is based on the DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda IP. It incorporates two rooms, each with two 25-seat, 3DoF, hydraulic motion platforms themed on a Hong Kong junk boat. The experience takes riders on a journey downriver with Po as they set out to save Kung Fu legend’s Furious Five as guests experience platform drops, dynamic movements and special effects.
RA.One: Unleashed 4D

Simworx provided a 100-seat 4D cinema based on the Bollywoood Movie RA ONE. The cinema incorporates 3DOF seats and a range of effects with a large screen and Christie projectors providing the visual elements. The multi-sensory experience enthrals guests as it takes them on a thrilling adventure into the heart of a virtual world.
Dragon Age: Flight of the Wardens
Effects: 4 seater, three axis robot motion base, complete with an off board projected A/V media system and audio solution
Simworx created a four-seat RoboCoaster based on Sony’s award winning video game Dragon Age. Guests board the ride within a castle themed loading station before the experience begins and the passenger vehicle tilts over to hang riders in front of a quarter dome screen where all the action takes place.
Thomas and Friends 4D

Simworx provided a 12-seat 4D Cinema to MATTEL PLAY TOWN, Dubai based on the much-loved children’s TV show Thomas and Friends. The cinema incorporates 3DOF seats and a range of effects such as leg ticklers, air blasts, water sprays and wind, along with special effects lighting. A large screen and Christie projectors provide the visual elements.
Final Fantasy: Escape From Midgar
Effects: 360º Screen, 3DOF Motion Base, Special Effects Lighting, Wind Blowers
Simworx provided a 30-seat Immersive Tunnel attraction based on the Final Fantasy video game series by Square Enix. With a futuristic themed vehicle, the attraction features 3D projection on both sides and to the front of the vehicle, giving guests a truly immersive experience.
Asura’s Wrath: The Awakening

Simworx has provided a 50-seat, 4D cinema based on the Japanese video game ASURA’S WRATH. The cinema incorporates 3DOF seats and a range of effects such as leg ticklers, air blasts, water sprays and wind, along with special effects lighting. A large curved screen and Christie projectors provide the visual elements.
Derren Brown’s Ghost Train
Derren Brown’s Ghost Train is a world-first, high-throughput ride designed specifically to provide a virtual reality experience like no other. As the turnkey supplier for the spectacular attraction, Simworx worked closely with Merlin Magic Making and the British illusionist and master of mind control Derren Brown to create a one-of-a-kind experience that is the world’s most extreme ghost train and the only fully immersive, psychological attraction designed to manipulate the mind.
Angry Birds: The 4D Experience

The Angry Birds 4D experience forms the unique centrepiece of the, 4,000sq.m Angry Birds zone at Thorpe Park. Simworx provided the 4D cinema, ensuring the environment highlights the high-impact special effects.
Shrek’s Adventure, London
Effects: 360º Screen, 3DOF Motion Base, Special Effects Lighting, Wind Blowers, Aroma
Situated in County Hall on London’s South Bank, alongside three other popular Merlin attractions – SEA LIFE London Aquarium, the London Dungeon and the Coca Cola London Eye – Shrek’s Adventure! is the result of a unique partnership between Merlin and DreamWorks Animation. The experience features a cast of favourite DreamWorks characters as they have never been seen before, with original scripts, sets and animation created just for this attraction.
The Lost Temple

The Lost Temple recreates an ‘unexplored world’ with prehistoric animals, dinosaurs and temples and thanks to modern film and animation techniques, visitors not only experience a thrilling story but become part of the storytelling process. They reach the underground world via an old lift and move through a series of different areas before boarding the Immersive Tunnel ride for the final part of their journey.
Arthur’s Adventure

4D Film Castle – VinWonders

VinWonders Nam Hội An is a brand new amusement park, not far from the city of Hoi An. There, within a beautiful ‘Disneyland-like’ castle, is our 4D cinema. Decked out with 144 3DOF 4D Cinema Seats equipped with Water Spray, Leg Ticklers and Wind Blowers.
5D Cinema – Tayto Park

Our 5D Cinema located in Ireland’s only Theme Park offers guests a thrilling journey as they sit back and enjoy the show. The 80-seat theatre, offering many added effects keeps audiences excited and enthralled, and provides the park with a hugely popular ‘all weather’ attraction. Seat movements, water spray, air blasts and bubbles are just some of the effects that visitors experience unexpectedly, whilst watching the popular 3D films, making this a favoured attraction. Currently showing in 2019, The Looney Tunes.

Sky Rex

The first Immersive Tunnel attraction to be opened in Malaysia was completed by Simworx. The installation was carried out at Panorama Langkawi, a visitor attraction that offers a variety of different experiences and facilities to guests. The attraction features a 30-seat, tracked tram and ride film, Dinosaur Island, produced exclusively for Simworx’s 30-seat version of the ride.
Superheroes 4D
Effects: Dynamic 6DOF Seat Motion, Vibration, Water Spray, Air Blast, Special Effects Lighting, Wind Blowers. Christie 3D Projection with 180 degree curved screen
Simworx supplied 7 of its Stargazer Motion Simulators to Trans Studio Badung with an array of 4D Effects. Combined with a huge 180 degree 3D AV set up and a custom film based around the Marvel Superheroes characters, Simworx were able to ensure that its client had a simulation attraction to rival any of the best available, worldwide.
Little Prince

With a brief of a “4D Cinema – with a difference” whilst trying to ensure maximum throughput, Simworx supplied a custom “Standing 4D Cinema” attraction. With subtle floor movements, a huge array of sensory 4D effects, combined with nWaves “The Little Prince” film.
4D Cinema – Paultons Park

A custom-built 150 seat 4D effects theatre was installed for Paultons Park and opened in March 2013. 4D effects including snow, bubbles, wind blowers and special effects lighting were also installed in the theatre as well as the effects that are built into the 4D seats, such as seat drop, vibration, water spray and leg ticklers.
4D Cinema – International Antarctic Centre

The 4D theatre at the International Antarctic Centre has all the thrills, spills and chills in an intense, immersive and in-your-face viewing experience as guests embark on an Ice Voyage to Antarctica.
4D Cinema – Lands End

The world famous Heritage Attractions’ brief was simple : “An attraction that will not only give us repeat revenues from local visitors, but also to wow holidaymakers that visit once a year”. The result was a wonderful 100 seat 4D Effects Cinema, that utilizes the cave style theming within the theatre room.
4D Experience – RAF Museum Cosford

Opened by TV attraction personality, James May, our latest 4D technology created a fun and entertaining theatre, which fits well amongst the top aviation museum’s enthralling exhibits, such as the amazing cold war and warplane exhibitions.
Angry Birds: The Ride

Simworx supplied two of its media-based attractions to Isfanbul Theme Park back in 2013, this fun and surprise-filled adventure from the popular mobile game Angry Birds is brought to life on SImworx’s Cobra Simulator Ride. Guests better watch out as the mischievous King Pig plots his revenge against Red and his friends.
4D Cinema – Drayton Manor

A made to measure 4D theatre, to entertain a large audience of all ages, was needed for one of the UK’s leading theme parks and home of the world-famous Thomas Land. The 152-seat, 4D theatre, offering many added effects to keep audiences excited and enthralled, provides a hugely popular ‘all weather’ attraction.
4D Cinema – Comfama Parque Arvi

Our History
1987 - Aiming for the Stars
Simworx' origins stem from motion system technology that was developed originally for the mainstream flight simulation industry. This technology began being applied to entertainment and educational attractions, and one of the first companies to exploit the power of motion simulation was British company, Rediffusion Simulation.
Rediffusion worked with creative partners in North America back in the 1980s to develop the ‘Magic Motion Machine’ which later evolved into the highly acclaimed Star Tours Ride installed at Disney Theme Parks worldwide.
1988 - Taking Flight
In 1988 Hughes Aircraft bought Rediffusion and the company became Hughes Rediffusion Simulation.
It was then taken over by Thomson CSF in 1994, who merged it with Link Miles and renamed the company ‘Thomson Training & Simulation (TTS).
1993 - When Andy met Terry
Simworx co-founders Andy Roberts and Terry Monkton initially met when both working for a company called FKI.
Andy had joined FKI back in 1983 and was responsible for managing and growing several operational cost centres while Terry joined in 1993 as the Operations Accountant.
1997 - Venturing Out
Leaving FKI in 1997, Terry went on to head up the finance department of a start-up company called Assembly Industries (AI).
AI had been set up to manufacture a 16 seat motion simulator exclusively for a company called Camber Entertainment. Following a period of growth – both organic and acquisition led, AI evolved into a group of companies called The AI Group where Terry became Group Finance Director in 2001 and subsequently Divisional Managing Director of the entertainment division.
2002 - Morphing
AI Group acquired the entertainment division of TTS and gained its own range of products, and looked to consolidate their position in the entertainment simulation marketplace.
They secured an exclusive license to develop the Morphis capsule simulators, as well as taking over the company’s current projects and work in progress. Along with assuming the responsibility for all service and product support of Camber Entertainment simulators including the provision of ride films and motion programmes, on a worldwide basis.
2004 - A New Direction
In 2004 Terry contacted Andy regarding joining the AI Group as Operations Director of their entertainment division and focussed on merging and growing the group’s Manufacturing and Service businesses.
AI continued to enjoy the success of their simulator sales, including the Morphis ESP
2005 - The 'worx begins...
Terry and Andy carried out a management buyout of the simulation division of AI Group.
As the simulation division of the AI Group consisted of 7 companies, they decided to consolidate them into one, and after a long brainstorming name session, Simworx was born!
Simworx continued to focus on Capsule Simulators, which had been very popular for decades with hundreds sold all around the world – typically to museums, zoo’s and aquariums and the corporate promotion sector.
2006 - A New Dimension
One of The AI Group’s last projects was a 3D Special Effects Theatre for an Air Museum in the USA. With a huge screen, motion seats with new special effects including aroma and wind, this was one of the first special effects theatres outside of Disney and Universal Studios and was the winner of a Museums & Heritage Award in 2004.
Simworx decided to ‘productise’ this attraction, and the ‘Dimensions 4D Cinema” was born. The 4D Cinema offered significant advancements in AV technology, and most importantly – the ability to scale the product to suit small, medium, and large-sized operators.
2007 - In Motion
Simworx leads the way in a new 4D Cinema revolution for the Theme Park sector, offering indoor, family friendly attractions that are still a mainstay attraction for all theme parks worldwide.
Following the success of the 4D Cinema, Simworx leans on its dynamic motion simulation roots, and developed the Stargazer Motion Ride, an 7/8 seat ‘open’ 6DOF motion simulator that by combining multiple units could accommodate small, medium and large sized venues
2009 - Advancing in the Market
By the end of the decade, Simworx ceases production of the Capsule Simulators to focus on its far more technically advanced, newly developed products that had opened up a larger worldwide market.
One such product was the 25 seat Cobra Darkride, first developed for Futuroscope, France
2013 - Immersive New Tech
Simworx creates a brand new attraction that harnessed all of the technology previously utilised – large dynamic motion platforms, special effects, huge 3D projection screens and added a new track based motion in to one brand new ride - The Immersive Tunnel.
Opened at Movie Park, Germany, guests board the vehicles which then travel along a track to the show area which incorporates a long 360 degree screen. Guests are then at the centre of the action in a temple with dinosaurs rampages around them.
2015 - A Robot Revolution
Simworx acquires Robocoaster, recognised developer of intellectual property for use in passenger-carrying robotic technology and trackless dark rides.
The acquisition would combine pioneering robotics capabilities with Simworx’s motion simulation and audio-visual experience, allowing them to concentrate on the development and manufacture of a new generation of ride technologies and robot-based show solutions.
2016 - On the Right Track
Simworx develops the ground-breaking Derren Brown’s Ghost Train attraction for Thorpe Park, UK.
Delivering three 60-seat motion-based passenger train carriages and 110 metres of train track. Each carriage was fitted with 60 VR headsets, an array of special effects, AV projection, vibrating floors and cutting-edge motion bases capable of a 35-ton lift.
The ride has since gone on to win 5 European Star Awards.
2017 - Innovating the Range
Simworx continues to develop its innovative product range for the growing FEC market.
Introducing their 4DVR, Immersive Adventurer & 360 Cinema products, as well as developing Paradrop with Frontgrid.
All products requiring a smaller footprint and lower price points making them attractive for smaller venues.
2019 - Making Waves
Simworx heads back to the Theme Park sector, with 3 major new product launches: The world first “Immersive Superflume” which combines a traditional water ride with an Immersive Tunnel motion and AV sequence.
Shortly afterwards saw the launch of its first ‘Mini Flying Theatre’ installed at Baoson Wildlife Park in Vietnam and then the ground breaking AGV DARK RIDE
2021 - Stargazing
Despite pandemic circumstances we delivered two stand-out attractions featuring our popular Stargazer Motion Theatre attraction.

2022 - Into Overdrive
Working with themed attraction designers, Katapult, we develop a ride concept to compliment our AGV Dark Ride system and demonstrate it's unique capabilities.
Taking guests on a high-octane chase through the city the non-linear story allows guests to choose between a role as a cop or robber. The concept as part of a wider marketing campaigns goes on to win a Park World Award the following year.
2023 - The Future's Bright
Simworx continues its position as one of the world leaders in the design, development and manufacturing of high quality media based attraction.
With more new products in development including our Pegasus Flying Theatre, to be launched later this year – as well as having a rich history, the future is looking even brighter!
